Job summary

SKL Technology seeks an experienced CIAM Tech Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership across the implementation and integration of large-scale Consumer Identity & Access Management solutions. This is a senior engineering role combining hands-on development, solution design and technical leadership.

You will build features, review code, solve complex implementation challenges and mentor engineers while helping deliver secure and scalable identity solutions within a complex enterprise

Qualifications

• Strong CIAM engineering experience, with hands-on customization/integration across enterprise platforms.
• Proven technical leadership, mentoring and code-review experience; familiarity with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC) and popular CIAM SaaS platforms.
• Experience configuring and integrating SaaS CIAM platforms is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical implementation of enterprise CIAM solutions.
• Remain hands-on with software development while ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
• Design solutions for complex identity and access challenges.
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
• Contribute to technical estimation, refinement and delivery planning.
• Mentor engineers and act as a technical escalation point.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate CIAM with enterprise systems.
• Promote modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development to improve productivity.
• Provide technical guidance for solution design and project planning.

Tech Lead – Consumer Identity & Access Management (CIAM)

18 months with one extension

Location: QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW

We are seeking an experienced CIAM Tech Lead to provide hands-on technical leadership across the implementation and integration of large-scale Consumer Identity & Access Management solutions.

This is a senior engineering role combining hands-on development, solution design and technical leadership. You will build features, review code, solve complex implementation challenges and mentor engineers while helping deliver secure and scalable identity solutions within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Lead the technical implementation of enterprise CIAM solutions.
• Remain hands-on with software development while maintaining a high-quality and maintainable codebase.
• Design solutions for complex identity and access management challenges.
• Troubleshoot complex technical and integration issues.
• Conduct code reviews, unit testing and integration testing.
• Contribute to technical estimation, refinement and delivery planning.
• Mentor and upskill engineers and act as a technical escalation point for the team.
• Collaborate with other engineering and platform teams to integrate CIAM solutions with enterprise systems.
• Drive modern engineering practices and leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.
• Provide technical guidance to support solution design and project planning.

What we are looking for

• Strong CIAM engineering experience, including OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect (OIDC) and hands-on customization/integration of platforms such as Auth0, Okta, ForgeRock or Ping Identity.
• Proven technical leadership with strong unit/integration testing (Jest or similar), mentoring and code-review experience, plus exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code or Cursor.

Highly Desirable

• Experience configuring and customising SaaS CIAM platforms.
• Experience developing and integrating microservices within AWS, Azure or GCP environments.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization and modern identity patterns.
• Experience working with complex, high-volume consumer identity environments.
