As a Hydraulic Technician at Babcock, you will play a key role in the refurbishment, testing and maintenance of critical hydraulic and mechanical equipment that supports high-integrity Defence capability.
Working within a specialised workshop environment, you will undertake stripping, surveying, cleaning, troubleshooting and testing activities while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with established procedures, quality standards and customer requirements.
You will support the Lead Technician and Workshop Manager in achieving operational targets, maintaining workshop equipment, managing clean room activities and completing accurate documentation.
The role also provides opportunities to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, assist with training and mentoring, and participate in special projects that enhance workshop performance and customer outcomes.
You are a qualified tradesperson with a strong mechanical background and extensive experience refurbishing hydraulic and mechanical systems.
You can confidently read and interpret technical drawings, diagnose faults and apply sound problem‑solving skills to deliver high‑quality outcomes.
Additional training or certifications in hydraulics will be highly regarded, along with experience working within quality-driven or Defence-related environments.
To be successful, you will hold the relevant licences and either possess, or be eligible to obtain, an Australian Defence Security Clearance (NV1).
