Job summary

HYDAC Australia is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Fitter to join the Victoria team, assembling, testing and commissioning hydraulic systems for diverse industries. The role requires hands-on mechanical and hydraulic expertise, ensuring quality in a modern workshop environment.

You will interpret hydraulic schematics, read engineering drawings and collaborate with Production and Engineering to deliver projects safely, on time and to high standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Engineering Mechanical Trade or similar.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in hydraulic fitting, fluid power or mechanical fitting.
• Proven experience in hydraulic system assembly, testing and fault finding.
• Lathe and milling machine skills.
• Forklift Licence and White Card.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Full Australian working rights.
• Experience in an ISO 9001 environment.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hydraulic power units, manifolds, pumps, motors, valves, accumulators and lubrication systems.
• Manufacture and install hydraulic tube and hose assemblies.
• Read and interpret hydraulic schematics and engineering drawings.
• Test, commission and troubleshoot hydraulic systems.
• Diagnose faults and carry out repairs and modifications.
• Complete quality and testing documentation.
• Support Production and Engineering teams to deliver projects safely, on time and to a high standard.

What We're Looking For

Strong tube bending and hose manufacturing skills

Ability to read hydraulic schematics and technical drawings

Current Australian Driver's Licence

Hydraulic or fluid power training

Experience in an ISO 9001 environment

Lathe and milling machine skills
