Job summary

Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) seeks an exceptional teacher to join our VCE Algorithmics and Specialist Mathematics teams. The capacity to teach both subjects is important, but we welcome candidates who can learn the other, with professional learning and support provided.

Our hybrid on-site/online model enables teachers to reach Victorian students across schools, with flexible arrangements including part-time work and occasional after-hours masterclasses.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum, including literacy & numeracy integration.
• Experience planning and implementing high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact on growth.
• Experience monitoring and assessing student learning and providing feedback to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, collaborating with students, parents, colleagues & community.
• Evidence of behaviours aligned with department values and ongoing professional learning.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of VCE Algorithmics and Specialist Mathematics students.
• Develop and implement curriculum with input from data on student learning growth.
• Provide feedback to students and parents and use data to inform practice.
• Mentor and coach other teachers; contribute to school policy and priorities.
• Participate in professional learning and reflect on practice to improve teaching quality.
