Job summary

MW Recruitment is seeking a Tax Accountant in Cairns, Australia, to join a respected local accounting practice with a reputation for honest advice and strong client relationships.

You will manage business services and tax advisory work for a diverse client portfolio, mentoring junior staff and collaborating with partners on complex engagements. This hybrid role offers WFH options after probation and clear career progression.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in Australian public practice.
• Strong knowledge across business services and taxation.
• CA/CPA qualified or nearing completion.
• Ambitious, proactive and committed to professional growth.
• Experience using Xero will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied client portfolio.
• Review financial statements and income tax returns for all entity types.
• Provide strategic tax planning and business advisory services.
• Prepare and review complex tax matters including Div 7A, CGT and FBT calculations.
• Identify advisory opportunities and support firm growth through referrals.
