Minchin Recruitment Pty in Brisbane seeks an Intermediate Accountant to support tax, accounting and business services for a range of clients. The role offers a path to CA/CPA qualifications and exposure to advisory work within a busy independent firm.

Qualifications

• Two years of Australian public practice accounting experience.
• Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• CA or CPA completed, underway or intended.
• Solid foundations in accounting and Australian taxation.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines.
• Proactive learning and ability to support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and SMSFs.
• Prepare BAS, IAS and related compliance work.
• Respond to client queries and gather information to progress engagements.
• Research taxation issues with guidance from senior colleagues.
• Assist with business advisory projects as capability develops.
• Use Xero, XPM and FYI Docs to maintain files and manage workflow.
• Keep colleagues informed of progress and flag questions or issues early.
