Job summary

Carey Group is seeking a Senior Accountant or Client Manager in Cairns, Australia. You will manage your own portfolio of clients as their trusted advisor, moving beyond compliance into genuine advisory work with the support of experienced Partners.

The role offers hybrid working, flexible arrangements, career and study progression, direct access to Partners, and the chance to broaden experience across accounting, tax, assurance and financial planning.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Business Services, Tax or Advisory.
• CA or CPA preferred but not necessary.
• A degree in Accounting, Commerce or related discipline.
• Strong technical accounting and taxation knowledge.
• Experience with client relationship management and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own portfolio of clients as their trusted advisor
• Building and maintaining relationships with business owners and key stakeholders
• Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and compliance work
• Moving into advisory work: business planning, structuring and growth conversations
• Working directly with Partners on complex client matters and strategy
• Identifying opportunities to add value beyond compliance
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, primary producers and rural businesses
