Job summary

Robert Bird Group (RBG) in Adelaide is seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Construction Engineering team. You will provide specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design services across major projects in South Australia.

The role involves client liaison with Project Directors, project resource management, and delivering high-quality engineering drawings while maintaining the firm’s reputation for innovation and technical excellence.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualifications with a focus on structural engineering.
• 3+ years’ structural engineering industry experience.
• Experience in temporary works design preferred.
• Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in detailing drawings aligned with duties.
• Solid grounding in steel and concrete design.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated experience with relevant structural software.
• Project management and hands-on experience including administrative, commercial and technical aspects.
• Ability to prepare technical reports to a standard requiring minimal correction, and to provide final reviews of reports.
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment.
• Full working rights.

Responsibilities

• Detailed structural design of temporary works and related impacts on permanent works.
• Client liaison with Project Directors and Associates on current and future projects.
• Active involvement in all projects, including project resource management with Project Directors.
• Deliver current and future projects while upholding RBG’s reputation for innovation, technical excellence, quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with team members, contributors and stakeholders to maintain quality, timeliness and coordination of deliverables.
