Job summary

Robert Bird Group (RBG), part of the SJ Group, invites a Structural Engineer to join its Construction Engineering team in Adelaide. You will deliver specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design for major projects across Adelaide and South Australia.

You will liaise with Project Directors, manage project resources, and contribute to innovative design while maintaining high standards of quality and delivery across a range of civil and building structures.

Qualifications

• Relevant Engineering qualifications – with a focus on structural engineering
• 3+ years’ structural engineering industry experience
• Experience in the delivery of temporary works design is preferred but not required
• Strong understanding of Australian codes and standards
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Experience in the delivery of detailed engineering drawings corresponding with level of duties
• Solid grounding in steel and concrete design
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Demonstrated design experience using relevant structural software
• Possesses project management and hands‑on experience, encompassing administrative, commercial and technical aspects
• Ability to prepare technical reports to a standard requiring minimal correction, and to provide final reviews of reports
• Able to work on own initiative and in a team environment
• Full working rights

The Role

Due to recent project wins, we are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Construction Engineering team in Adelaide. The successful candidate will provide specialist staged analysis, construction methodology and temporary works design services to some of the biggest contractors constructing Adelaide and wider South Australia's most significant building and major transport infrastructure projects.
