Job summary

Zurich Australia is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager - Travel to lead analytical oversight of our Australian and New Zealand Travel portfolio. You will integrate portfolio, claims and financial data to drive profitability, shape pricing and inform strategic decisions with senior leadership across Pricing, Claims, Finance and Product.

You will build robust dashboards, enable data-driven recommendations, and mentor junior colleagues while partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Qualified Actuary status, FIAA or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of general insurance experience.
• Experience in portfolio management across direct and intermediated channels.
• Strong understanding of insurance P&L performance and its key drivers.
• Strong capability across Excel, SQL, SAS and Power BI, with Python experience viewed favourably.
• Experience building robust processes and intuitive dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse portfolio performance across Direct and Intermediated channels, partners, products and customer segments.
• Apply portfolio valuation and profitability techniques to support new business, renewals and strategic decision-making.
• Drive the Underwriting function’s loss ratio and volume assumptions across planning, budgeting and forecasting.
• Build, automate and maintain intuitive self-service dashboards that provide a trusted view of performance and portfolio trends.
• Turn quantitative analysis into practical recommendations across portfolio mix, retention, claims experience and channel performance.
• Mentor and develop junior team members through technical guidance, constructive feedback and professional development support.
