Job summary

CORTO is seeking a practising lawyer to join our LegalTech focused team in Sydney, working at the intersection of law and product. The role emphasizes hands-on testing of legal AI agents, legal research, prompt development and content preparation.

You will collaborate with experienced legal innovation specialists in a small, supportive team, delivering work that directly informs product improvements in a fast-paced environment. Hybrid arrangement in Sydney, 2–3 days in office.

Qualifications

• A law degree (LLB or equivalent) and admission to practice in Australia.
• 1–3 years’ experience as a practising lawyer – family law or general practice strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with AI tools in legal work and willingness to work with AI in a product context.

Responsibilities

• Carry out test plans for AI models, agents and features using realistic legal tasks and workflows.
• Record results with clear examples, expected vs. actual outcomes, and steps to reproduce.
• Create realistic synthetic test matters, datasets and use cases for AI evaluation.
• Conduct legal research for presentations and white papers on evolving AI regulatory landscape.
• Assist in writing and refining prompts and skills for the prompt library.
