Job summary

Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) is seeking an IT Manager to lead hands-on delivery and operations for a modern hybrid workplace. You will own Microsoft 365, Entra ID, AD, and Windows infrastructure, guiding identity, device management, security, and cloud services across the organization.

The role requires 2–5+ years in a hands-on infrastructure/cloud role, with strong Microsoft expertise, endpoint management, and security controls including MFA and Zero Trust.

Qualifications

• 2–5+ years’ experience in a Level 2/3 systems, infrastructure or cloud engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft and Windows enterprise environments.
• Experience with endpoint and device management (Intune, Config Manager).
• Understanding of MFA, Conditional Access and Zero Trust principles.
• ITIL-based change and incident management experience.
• Security-focused, with Zero Trust mindset and minimal user disruption.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support Microsoft 365, Entra ID, AD and hybrid identity.
• Manage endpoint configuration, device compliance, and patching.
• Configure and troubleshoot CA, MFA and access requirements.
• Improve endpoint, patching and device management capabilities.
• Support AI features within the Microsoft/hybrid environment.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for identity and infrastructure services.
• Mentor Service Desk and Cloud Engineer; escalate complex issues.
• Assist with connectivity across LAN/WAN/VPN and cloud services.
