Job summary

SUBCO is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join our IT operations team in Brisbane. This role covers design, deployment, management and support of on-site data centres and cloud resources, with emphasis on scalable, secure infrastructure.

You will implement automation via IaC, manage hybrid environments, and collaborate with security and development teams to ensure reliability and optimization across platforms.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing physical and virtual servers, storage and networking.
• Strong Linux/Windows command-line, automation and configuration management skills.
• Experience with AWS hybrid infrastructures and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).

Responsibilities

• Maintain on-premises server environments (compute, storage, networking) for critical systems.
• Implement security hardening, patching, and lifecycle management of assets.
• Administer identity and access management for on-premises systems.
• Lead automation of provisioning, configuration and patching using IaC and orchestration tools.
• Design, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure aligned with network platforms.
• Monitor health, alerting and observability across on‑prem and cloud environments; participate in on-call rotation.
• Ensure backups, disaster recovery and business continuity plans are tested and updated.
