Job summary

Munro Footwear Group is seeking a General Accountant to join the Finance team in Melbourne. You will deliver accurate financial reporting, manage month-end close, and maintain robust accounting practices across the business.

Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will collaborate with stakeholders, prepare financial statements, and support internal control improvements while ensuring compliance with Australian standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting experience required.
• Tertiary accounting qualification with CA/CPA desired.
• Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage accurate month-end close processes and GL reconciliations.
• Prepare financial statements and ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain internal controls and mitigate financial risks.
• Coordinate year-end processes and liaise with external auditors.
• Analyse variances vs budget and prior year with commentary.
• Support cross-functional projects impacting finance processes.
• Collaborate with Finance team to improve reporting tooling and procedures.
