Job summary

Orange City Council seeks an organised Events Officer to help plan, coordinate, deliver and evaluate Council and community events across the Orange region. You will work with the Events Lead to attract and activate vibrant experiences that enhance Orange’s reputation and local economy.

You will liaise with Council staff, community groups and the events industry to ensure safety, compliance and high-quality delivery.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in events management or related discipline, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Proven experience planning and delivering successful events.
• Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Sound project-management and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver diverse civic and community events from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, vendors and community groups for seamless execution.
• Provide advice on event planning, approvals, safety, accessibility and compliance.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, permits and safety standards.
• Support promotion of events through marketing and communications.
