Job summary

Cummins Australia is seeking an early to mid-career engineer to support our Manufacturing Engineering team in Melbourne. You will help maintain accurate product data and BOM information across systems, update engineering drawings, and assist with engineering change management and project coordination.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Product Management to deliver quality outcomes, work in a hybrid setup, and contribute to continuous improvement across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM discipline is required.
• Internships/early-career roles in engineering, manufacturing, product development, or technical services are valued.
• Interest in product design, engineering change processes and project coordination is essential.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills; proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assist with local VPI processes when new products are introduced to MFG.
• Perform M-BOM changes due to supersessions, TSBs, and customer requests.
• Configure product structures in MES systems and BOM information in ERP systems.
• Work with CAD models and engineering documentation to validate data and support design updates.
• Support CI and 6S projects to improve cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Product Management to deliver project outcomes.
