Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking a Budget Analyst to support budget management and financial analysis across the department. You will coordinate processes with the Department of Treasury and Finance and monitor budgets while maintaining Axiom and CoA data.

The role requires strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and effective written communication with stakeholders. This ongoing position offers flexible work arrangements within Victoria.

Qualifications

• Role requires degree in accounting, finance or commerce or equivalent.
• High level conceptual and analytical skills with attention to detail and strong written skills.
• Demonstrated experience in analysing and reporting on budget management activities.
• Experience administrating state resource management systems and/or budget management systems is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and information on a broad range of budget and financial management activities.
• Support financial analysis and budget advice to Groups and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate budget management processes for DEECA with the Department of Treasury and Finance.
• Monitor department budgets, analyse changes, and contribute to the annual state budget process.
• Perform data administration of the budget management system (Axiom) and CoA codes.
