Job summary

Morson Edge is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Service Technician in Western Sydney to service and maintain a broad range of commercial HVAC systems across Sydney. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance, and respond to emergency repairs, working autonomously with a strong safety and quality focus.

The ideal candidate has a Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, an ARCtick licence, and proven experience in VRV/VRF, AHUs/FCUs, and chilled-water systems.

Qualifications

• Trade qualifications in air conditioning and refrigeration required.
• ARCtick refrigerant handling licence is essential.
• Proven experience in commercial HVAC servicing, maintenance and breakdowns.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding abilities across mechanical, refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Experience servicing VRV/VRF systems, package units, AHUs and FCUs.
• Good understanding of electrical controls, wiring diagrams and HVAC principles.
• Exposure to chilled-water systems or BMS controls is a plus.
• Current Australian driver’s licence.
• Strong communication and autonomous-working skills.
• Professional attitude and commitment to quality workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance, servicing and repairs across commercial and industrial HVAC systems.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, refrigeration, electrical and controls faults.
• Perform reactive breakdown servicing, troubleshooting and emergency repairs.
• Service VRV/VRF systems, packaged air conditioning units, split and ducted systems, AHUs, FCUs and related plant.
• Work with chilled-water systems, pumps, ventilation and building controls where required.
• Identify equipment defects, recommend corrective actions and assist with repair quotations.
• Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams and manufacturer specifications to diagnose system faults.
• Complete service reports, maintenance documentation and job records accurately.
• Liaise professionally with clients, facility managers and other stakeholders.
• Work autonomously across commercial sites while maintaining high safety and workmanship standards.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians and apprentices when required.

Key Responsibilities

About You

We are looking for a confident, hands‑on HVAC technician with strong commercial service experience and excellent fault‑finding capabilities.

To be successful, you will ideally have:

• Certificate III in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent recognised trade qualification.
• Current ARCtick refrigerant handling licence.
• Proven experience in commercial HVAC servicing, maintenance and breakdowns.
• Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding abilities across mechanical, refrigeration and electrical systems.
• Experience servicing VRV/VRF systems, package units, AHUs, FCUs and commercial air conditioning equipment.
• Good understanding of electrical controls, wiring diagrams and HVAC operating principles.
• Exposure to chilled‑water systems, central plant or BMS controls would be highly regarded.
• Current Australian driver's licence.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• A professional attitude, excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

Experience with major HVAC brands such as Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Temperzone and other commercial systems will be highly regarded.
