Job summary

Daikin Australia is seeking a Project Engineer specializing in AHU and Custom HVAC equipment to join our local manufacturing operations. The role focuses on developing, designing and executing Make to Order HVAC projects, optimizing custom equipment for quality, performance, manufacturability, and Australian standards.

You will work hands-on with CAD software and support production teams, while coordinating across procurement, quality, and sales for successful tenders.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
• CPEng or MIEAust accreditation advantageous.
• 3–5 years in project/design engineering in Australian HVAC.
• Hands-on CAD experience with SolidWorks/AutoCAD/Revit and HVAC fundamentals.
• Lean Manufacturing, DFMA, and energy-efficient design knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed drawings, 3D models, and cost estimations for custom HVAC products in support of sales and business development activities.
• Develop accurate manufacturing drawings and production instructions for successful project tenders.
• Specify and select materials, components, and equipment aligned with project scope, standards, and sustainability goals.
• Provide hands-on technical support to production teams during assembly and fabrication, troubleshooting design and technical issues.
• Maintain complete technical documentation, project schedules, and progress reports while collaborating cross-functionally across procurement, QA, and sales teams.
