Job summary

Airmax Solutions in Melbourne's north and west seeks a hands-on refrigeration mechanic or licensed mechanical plumber to join a small, growing team. Freshly qualified or early in your post-ticket years, you will work across high-end residential installations, system replacements, and light commercial fitouts with a standard worth standing behind.

You'll gain exposure across a genuine range of work from day one and we'll back you to grow into it, including VRV/F installations as the business

Qualifications

• Full refrigeration mechanic or mechanical plumbing licence/registration, freshly qualified or early post-ticket.
• Experience with ducted and split system installs.
• Willingness to work across residential and light commercial projects.

Responsibilities

• Install ducted and split systems in new builds and renovations.
• Handle replacement and upgrade work on existing residential systems.
• Complete light commercial fitouts and servicing for known clients.
• Work with VRV/F installations as the business grows.

We're deliberately small and building carefully. This isn't a role where you disappear into a large team and run the same split system for five years. You'll get exposure across a genuine range of work from day one — and we'll back you to grow into it.

The role

We're deliberately small and building carefully. This isn't a role where you disappear into a large team and run the same split system for five years. You'll get exposure across a genuine range of work from day one — and we'll back you to grow into it.

Who we're after

You've just got your ticket or you're in your early years post-qualification. You've got solid foundations — ducted and split system installs — and you're ready to work across a broader scope without needing someone over your shoulder to get it done right.

Experience with VRV/F systems is a genuine advantage as we grow that side of the business — but it's not a dealbreaker. Foundation and character matter more than the length of your resume.

Day to day

Ducted and split system installations in new builds and high-end renovations

Replacement and upgrade work on existing residential systems

Light commercial fitouts — offices, retail, similar scale

Servicing existing clients and systems we know well

VRV/F installations — a growing part of what we do and where we're heading

Monday to Friday. No on-call. No weekend callouts.

You hold a full refrigeration mechanic or mechanical plumbing licence/registration — freshly qualified or early years post-ticket
