Job summary

Syscon delivers high voltage substation and customer connection projects across NSW for utility, industrial, renewable energy and infrastructure clients. An Experienced Electrical Engineer will lead HV primary, secondary and protection design, mentor detail designers and drive technically critical outcomes.

Based in Wyong, Newcastle, Wagga Wagga or Western Sydney with flexible/hybrid arrangements, you will influence transformer, switchgear and earthing concepts while engaging with network

Qualifications

• HV primary/secondary and protection design experience.
• Experience with substations and customer connections.
• Knowledge of AS 2067, AS/NZS 61850 and protection coordination.
• Strong communication to lead technical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the primary, secondary and protection design of HV substations and customer connections.
• Develop design concepts for transformers, switchgear, busbar arrangements and earthing systems.
• Prepare and review protection studies, relay settings and fault level assessments.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to detail designers.
• Manage technical submissions and stakeholder engagement with network authorities.
• Support testing, commissioning and energisation activities alongside our T&C team.
• Work across utility, infrastructure, industrial and renewable energy projects.
