Job summary

Downer’s Energy & Utilities team is seeking experienced HV Substation Electricians to contribute to primary and secondary construction of Zone and Terminal Substations, and data centre stations. You’ll work on HV switchyards with CBs, CTs, VT's, bus installations and earthing in a small, skilled team.

You will also install secondary protection and control panels, and termination of control cables. This is a permanent role with ongoing training and a nine-day fortnight schedule, emphasising a

Qualifications

• Current VIC Electrical Licence.
• Proven experience in HV substation construction or maintenance.
• Strong background in HV primary and secondary systems.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• First Aid & CPR/LVR certifications.
• HRW Licence desirable (EWP and/or Forklift).
• Commitment to Zero Harm safety culture.

Come join our Energy & Utilities Business working on HV Substations providing maintenance and construction on critical infrastructure assets across the region!

The Opportunity

We are searching for experienced HV Substation Electricians to join our Energy & Utilities team, working on Primary and Secondary construction of Zone Substations, Terminal Substations and Utility owned Data Centre Stations. As part of a small, skilled team, you’ll be involved with HV Switchyard construction including CB's, CT's VT's, disconnecting switches, solid and flexible Bus installation, and earthing of all switchyard equipment. Other tasks will include installation of Secondary Protection and Control panels, and installation and termination of all control cables. These roles are based on a nine-day fortnight.

What We’re Looking For

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• A current VIC Electrical Licence
• Proven experience working in HV substation construction or maintenance
• A strong background in HV primary and secondary systems.
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• First Aid & CPR/LVR certifications
• High Risk Work Licence - EWP and/or Forklift (desirable but not essential)
• A strong commitment to our Zero Harm safety culture
