Job summary

CPP is seeking a Drafter – Secondary to join our established engineering team in Adelaide, supporting renewable energy and high voltage infrastructure projects across Australia.

You’ll develop detailed design packages covering protection and SCADA systems, interlocking, single line diagrams, and switchroom documentation, ensuring drawings meet client requirements and standards before manufacturing and construction.

Qualifications

• Experience in secondary electrical drafting focusing on protection relays, SCADA, and switch room documentation.
• Experience with Australian utility standards or renewable grid connection projects.
• Experience in utilities or renewable energy industry is highly regarded but not essential.
• Ability to interpret design information from stakeholders for end users.
• Relevant tertiary studies preferred but not essential.
• Trade background complemented by recent studies or drafting experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed design packages covering protection and SCADA systems, interlocking, single line diagrams, panel layouts, AC/DC schematics and switchroom documentation.
• Check drawings against client requirements and relevant standards before they’re issued for manufacturing and construction.
• Assist with tender designs and coordinate documentation with clients, suppliers and third parties.
• Support project managers and engineers to resolve technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement.
