UGL, as part of the CIMIC Group, seeks a Power Systems Lead to drive HV substation and power system delivery for a major rail project in Australia. The role offers technical leadership across interfaces, risk management, and client engagement, with a focus on safety, quality and timely delivery.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with SHEQ standards while developing team capabilities and delivering value to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Ieaust membership desirable or IPENZ graduate status.
• Experience delivering HV substations, power systems and related infrastructure.
• Rail traction power experience welcomed but not essential.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage safety, quality and budgets.

Responsabilités

• Lead planning, delivery and integration of HV power and substation works across the project lifecycle.
• Manage engineering interfaces between designers, construction teams, operations and clients.
• Provide technical leadership on power systems, substations and related infrastructure.
• Manage technical risks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Organise, design and implement temporary works and infrastructure as required.
• Prepare work packages, documentation and quality requirements for tenders.
• Evaluate subcontractors for capacity and capability to perform the work.
• Inform Project Manager of SH&E, quality or other issues and take corrective action.
• Coach and train team to align with project objectives and quality standards.
• Lead subcontractors to foster inclusive, discrimination-free work environment.
