Job summary

WSP Australia is seeking an Electrical Engineer with HV/EHV experience to shape Australia’s energy infrastructure. You will contribute to major transmission and substation projects from concept through design and construction support across the country.

You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, utilities, and contractors, delivering technical studies, layouts, and equipment sizing while advancing your career in power systems engineering.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Electrical/Power Engineering or related discipline.
• 4-8 years' experience delivering HV/EHV substations, transmission, or power infra projects.
• Experience in transmission, utilities, renewable energy, or power sectors.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design and delivery of HV/EHV substations and transmission projects from concept to construction support.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical studies, specifications, and design documentation.
• Develop substation layouts, equipment arrangements, and primary design deliverables.
• Undertake conductor sizing, busbar sizing, short-circuit studies, and equipment selection.
• Support design reviews, construction activities, commissioning, and project delivery phases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Work with senior engineers to develop innovative engineering solutions.
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
