NewDirection Care is shaping Australia’s world-first MICRO TOWN aged and disability community. The HR Manager will lead HR, industrial relations, recruitment, culture and learning in a dementia-inclusive environment, reporting to the General Manager.

You’ll partner with leaders to strengthen engagement, plan workforce needs and support organizational performance, overseeing Learning & Development Coordinator and related roles. A proactive, people-focused leader is essential.

• Has HR generalist management or senior HR advisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, modern awards and enterprise agreements.
• Experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations and performance processes.
• Ability to improve workforce strategy, compliance, recruitment and retention.
• Experience overseeing learning, onboarding and workforce capability.

About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead HR, employee and industrial relations, compliance, recruitment, culture, and learning and development.

Partner with leaders to strengthen engagement, meet legislative requirements, plan workforce needs and support organisational performance. You’ll also oversee the Learning and Development Coordinator, the Support Services Mentor, and the Educator.

Key Responsibilities

About You

You’re a practical, solutions-focused leader. You’ll bring:

• HR, Business or related qualifications, or substantial relevant experience.


• Generalist HR management or senior HR advisory experience.


• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, industrial relations, modern awards and enterprise agreements.


• Experience managing complex employee relations matters, investigations and performance processes.


• Ability to improve workforce strategy, compliance, recruitment and retention.


• Experience overseeing learning, onboarding and workforce capability.


• Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.


• Experience in aged care, healthcare, disability or another regulated sector is highly regarded. UKG or similar systems, organisational change, workforce planning, training partnerships and mentoring experience are also valued.
