Job summary

The Pentarch Group in Melbourne seeks an experienced HR Business Partner to support a distributed workforce of about 600 employees. You will be the primary HR contact for a defined portfolio, providing practical HR advice and employee-relations support.

The role offers a secure permanent position with a hybrid work arrangement—three anchor office days on Monday and Wednesday plus one extra day, and opportunities to work on HR projects and M&A due diligence support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related discipline is essential.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR advisory role, ideally supporting a blue-collar or operational workforce, with exposure to unionised workplaces.
  • Solid knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, modern Awards and industrial instruments, with ability to interpret and apply employment conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Build effective working relationships with leaders across an allocated portfolio of internal client groups and act as their primary contact for day-to-day HR support.
  • Develop understanding of client groups’ operations, workforce and people priorities to provide relevant HR advice and support.
  • Provide HR advice on policies, procedures and day-to-day people management matters, escalating high-risk or complex matters to HR Manager.
  • Support disciplinary and workplace matters, including investigations, interviews, documentation and recommendations, under the guidance of HR Manager.
  • Assist with enterprise agreement bargaining activities, including preparing factual employee communications and supporting documentation submission to Fair Work Commission.
  • Review, implement and monitor HR policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives.

About the Position

We have an excellent opportunity for an experiencedHuman Resources Business Partnerto join our team.This broad generalist role will have responsibility for a defined portfolio of internal client groups, acting as their primary HR contact and developing a sound understanding of their operations, workforce, and people priorities.


Working closely with leaders across a geographically dispersed workforce of approximately 600 employees, the role provides practical HR and employee relations support in workplaces covered by Enterprise Agreements and modern Awards, including unionised environments.



  • Build effective working relationships with leaders across an allocated portfolio of internal client groups and act as their primary contact for day-to-day HR support.

  • Develop an understanding of each client group’s operations, workforce and people priorities to provide relevant HR advice and support.

  • Provide HR advice and support to leaders on policies, procedures and day-to-day people management matters, escalating high-risk or complex matters to the Human Resources Manager.

  • Support disciplinary and workplace matters, including investigations, interviews, documentation and recommendations, under the guidance of the Human Resources Manager.

  • Assist with enterprise agreement bargaining activities, including preparing factual employee communications and supporting the preparation and collation of documentation for submission to the Fair Work Commission.

  • Assistwith the review, implementation and monitoring of HR policies,guidelinesand procedures.

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of HR projects and initiatives.


To be successful in this role, you will have:


  • A bachelor’s degree in human resource management or a related disciplineis essential.

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a generalist HR advisory role, ideally supporting a blue-collar or operational workforce, with exposure to unionised workplaces.

  • Sound working knowledge of Enterprise Agreements, modern Awards and industrial instruments, with the ability to interpret and apply employment conditions and escape complex matters appropriately.

  • Experience supporting disciplinary and workplace matters, including investigations, interviews, documentation and recommendations.

  • The ability toprovidepractical advice on policy,procedureand day-to-day people management matters.

  • Strong written and verbal communication,problem-solvingand decision-making skills.

  • The ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
