Job summary

Ascham School in Edgecliff, NSW, seeks a permanent full-time Human Resources Advisor to deliver end-to-end HR support across the employee lifecycle. You will recruit, onboard, manage changes, leave, probation and performance processes with professionalism and confidentiality.

You will act as liaison between HR and Payroll, use the ELMO HRIS to train users, generate reports and drive continuous improvement across the school community.

Qualifications

• Provide day-to-day HR advice and operational support to managers and staff across the employee lifecycle.
• Manage HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, employment changes, leave, probation, performance support, compliance, records management and offboarding.
• Act as the primary operational liaison between Human Resources and Payroll, ensuring accurate processing of commencements and variations.
• Serve as the School's ELMO HRIS super user and provide ELMO training, guidance and user support.
• Produce HR reports and workforce metrics, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
• Support managers with routine employee relations matters, including probation, attendance and policy interpretation.
• Contribute to HR projects, policy reviews, workforce initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

About this Role

At Ascham, we employ some 600 employees in permanent, temporary and casual teaching and non-teaching roles, with everyone based on our single-site campus at Edgecliff, and at the heart of all we do.

We are looking for a permanent full-time Human Resources Advisor to join our team and help create an exceptional employee experience, with responsive and professional end-to-end Human Resources (HR) support across the employee lifecycle. Working collaboratively with leaders and employees across the school, you will coordinate recruitment and onboarding, provide practical HR advice, support payroll-related processes, and champion continuous improvement initiatives that enable our staff and community to thrive.

What You Will Do

What You Will Bring

• Tertiary qualification in Human Resources / a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• HR generalist or advisory experience across recruitment and the employment lifecycle.
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple operational processes.
• Ability to provide sound first-level advice and accelerate appropriately.
• Understanding of Australian employment legislation and industrial instruments.
• Proven organisation and accuracy skills, with high levels of judgement and confidentiality
• Sound communication, interpersonal, influencing and stakeholder service skills.
• Strong HRIS capability, preferably with ELMO, and confidence training users, troubleshooting workflows and maintaining data quality.
• Ability to use technology including Microsoft Office Suite programs and particularly MS Excel at an intermediate to advanced level
• A valid Working with Children Check and commitment to child safeguarding.
