Responsibilities

  • Lead the Payroll team to deliver accurate, timely payroll services for ~2,000 employees.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing including changes, allowances, deductions, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts, awards, EBAs, legislation and STP reporting.
  • Act as subject matter expert on payroll, remuneration, and benefits for stakeholders.
  • Manage payroll systems, controls, security and process improvements.
  • Oversee payroll tax, WorkCover, leave accruals, reconciliations and month/year-end obligations.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies, reporting and analytics.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries with high-quality support and insights.

Synopsis:

Haileybury welcomes applications for the role of Payroll manager to join our Finance team. This is a Full-Time, Ongoing (1.0 FTE) position, commencing as soon as possible.

The Payroll Manager will play a key role in delivering a compliant, accurate and timely payroll function, supporting approximately 2,000 employees and ensuring payroll practices align with relevant contracts, awards and agreements.

Key Responsibilities

As the Payroll Manager, you will:

  • Lead the Payroll team to deliver accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services for approximately 2,000 employees.
  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing, including employee lifecycle changes, allowances, deductions, superannuation, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment contracts, awards, EBAs, legislation, and statutory reporting requirements, including STP.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on payroll, remuneration, and benefits, providing advice and support to stakeholders.
  • Manage payroll systems, controls, security, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Oversee payroll tax, WorkCover, leave accruals, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end payroll obligations.
  • Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, reporting, and analytics to support operational and strategic workforce decisions.
  • Respond to payroll enquiries and provide high-quality payroll support and insights to stakeholders.
