We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Business Partner who can combine sound employee relations knowledge with a practical, people-focused approach. This is an opportunity to work closely with leaders, guide them through complex workplace matters and contribute to initiatives that strengthen our culture and employee experience.

Based at our Burnside Support Centre, you will partner with leaders across a diverse organisation delivering residential aged care, in-home care and community services. You will provide trusted advice across the employee lifecycle while helping build leadership capability, improve people practices and support positive organisational outcomes.

What You Will Do

Reporting to the HR Business Partner Team Lead, you will provide practical and contemporary HR advice across a broad range of employee and workplace matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusted and effective partnerships with leaders across the organisation
  • Providing accurate, timely and practical HR advice
  • Coaching leaders to confidently manage people matters and build high-performing teams
  • Supporting performance management, grievances and employee relations matters
  • Undertaking and supporting fair and thorough workplace investigations
  • Advising leaders through organisational change and consultation processes
  • Supporting the interpretation and application of legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
  • Identifying emerging people risks and working with leaders to achieve appropriate outcomes
  • Participating in audits and reviews to ensure HR practices meet organisational and regulatory standards
  • Using people data and workforce insights to inform decision-making
  • Contributing to the review, development and implementation of HR policies, frameworks and initiatives
  • Identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and the employee experience

This role combines hands-on employee relations support with coaching, problem-solving, project delivery and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

You will be an experienced HR practitioner who can build trusted relationships, navigate sensitive workplace matters and provide clear, considered advice in a changing environment.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A qualification in Human Resources Management or equivalent experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated experience delivering contemporary HR services across the employee lifecycle
  • Strong knowledge of employee relations frameworks and workplace practices
  • Experience supporting performance management, grievances and workplace investigations
  • The ability to interpret and apply legislation, industrial instruments, policies and procedures
  • Strong influencing, negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters professionally
  • Highly developed research, investigation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting organisational change and guiding leaders through change processes
  • Strong coaching and communication skills, with the ability to build leadership capability
  • Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement experience
  • The ability to prioritise competing demands and respond to changing organisational needs
  • Confidence using people metrics to identify trends, emerging risks and improvement opportunities
  • Experience using HR information systems
  • Experience within aged care, health, community services or the not-for-profit sector will be highly regarded.
Why Join Sundale?
