Job summary

Icon Metal Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Human Resource Adviser to join our Oran Park team on a full-time, ongoing basis. You will provide professional HR guidance to management and staff, helping shape workforce planning, recruitment and policies to support business goals.

You will manage employee relations, performance development, training and compliance with Australian workplace laws, awards, and company policies. A relevant qualification and at least one year of HR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in related field.
  • Minimum one year of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of human resource management principles, employment practices, and workplace relations.
  • Experience providing HR advice to managers and employees on workplace matters.
  • Knowledge of recruitment, workforce planning, performance management, and employee development processes.
  • Understanding of Australian employment legislation, workplace obligations, and HR compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with employees, management, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Professional approach with strong attention to confidentiality and ethical HR practices.

Responsibilities

  • Provide human resource advice and guidance to management and employees on employment matters, workplace policies, and HR practices.
  • Develop, review, and implement human resource policies, procedures, and workplace strategies to support business objectives.
  • Assist management with workforce planning, organisational structure, and future staffing requirements.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment strategies, including preparing position descriptions, reviewing recruitment requirements, assessing candidates, and advising on selection processes.
  • Provide advice on employee relations matters, including workplace issues, grievances, disciplinary procedures, and conflict resolution.
  • Support the development and implementation of performance management processes, including performance reviews, feedback mechanisms, and improvement plans.
  • Provide advice regarding employment conditions, remuneration structures, employee benefits, and workplace entitlements.
  • Develop and coordinate employee induction, training, and professional development programs to improve workforce capability.
  • Monitor workplace practices and provide recommendations to improve employee engagement, retention, and organisational effectiveness.
  • Assist management in interpreting and applying employment legislation, awards, workplace agreements, and company policies.
  • Review and update employment contracts, HR policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Analyse workforce information and prepare HR reports to support management decision-making.
  • Provide advice on workplace health and safety requirements and support the implementation of workplace initiatives.
  • Maintain effective communication with employees, managers, and external HR service providers on human resource matters.
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure appropriate management of employee information and HR documentation.
