Job summary

University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is seeking a hands-on Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to support FEIT. You will provide practical advice across engineering and research environments, engaging staff, researchers and students to manage risks and ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety legislation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, infrastructure or research environments.
• Strong knowledge of plant, machinery, workshop, laboratory and electrical safety practices.
• Extensive knowledge of NSW Work Health and Safety legislation and Standards.
• Experience developing risk assessments and safe work procedures.
• Strong incident investigation, auditing and inspection capability.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with academics, researchers and students.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist health and safety advice for engineering and research environments.
• Develop risk assessments, safe work procedures and risk mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate safety programs, policies and compliance activities.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits and incident investigations with corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety training and support continuous safety capability development.
• Monitor safety performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
