Job summary

Bellingen Shire Council is seeking an HSEQ Officer to maintain, review and improve the Integrated Management System and related documentation, ensuring alignment with quality, health and safety, and environmental standards and legislative requirements. The role blends office and field-based work with staff across Council to apply the IMS to construction and maintenance activities.

Successful candidates will have tertiary qualifications in WHS, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or related

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience implementing and improving management systems in construction/maintenance environments.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and standards; good communication and organisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Undertake audits, workplace inspections and incident investigations.
• Identify and assess risks and manage non-conformances and corrective actions.
• Review and update IMS documentation and develop procedures.
• Advise staff on quality, safety and environmental requirements.
