Job summary

Amida Group in Sydney seeks an experienced HSEQ Lead/Manager to drive health, safety, environment and quality across multiple sites for Defence, Industrial, Commercial and Marine sectors. You will oversee a small team, partner with senior leadership, and report to the National/Regional HSEQ Manager while supporting bids and project mobilisations.

With 5–10+ years in construction HSEQ, you will influence safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and lead audits and investigations.

Qualifications

• Ideally a Cert IV in Health & Safety or a Diploma
• 5 to 10+ years’ experience with background in working in construction health & safety
• Strong knowledge of HSEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks
• Strong experience in risk management, auditing and assurance processes
• A sound understanding of Quality Management Systems
• Ability to thrive in high pressure, fast paced environment
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Will be travel to some regional sites in NSW occasionally
• Australian citizenship, required for access to Defence project sites.

Responsibilities

• Coach a team of HSE Advisors.
• Direct critical risk management, verification and operational assurance across the business.
• Lead audit programs, incident investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Partner with Project Managers, senior leadership and clients on strategic HSEQ matters.
• Drive meaningful improvements in safety, quality, environmental performance and operational culture.
• Provide HSEQ leadership across tenders, project mobilisation and project delivery.
• Build organisational capability through coaching, mentoring, training and leadership development.
• Identify emerging risks and trends and translate insights into practical improvement initiatives.
