Job summary

The Safe Step in Melbourne is seeking an emerging HSEQ professional who is passionate about safety and eager to learn from experienced leaders in a growing and diverse operational environment.

You will gain hands-on exposure across safety, environment, compliance, risk management, injury management, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or currently completing).
• Passion for workplace safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience in safety, compliance, operations or related field is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture and engagement.
• Support risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions.
• Assist with audits, compliance activities and ISO management systems.
• Contribute to training, safety improvement programs and HSEQ initiatives.
• Develop your expertise across safety, environmental and compliance functions.

Reporting to a highly experienced Head of Safety, you'll gain hands-on exposure across safety, environment, compliance, risk management, injury management, investigations, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

• Partnering with operational leaders to strengthen safety culture and engagement
• Supporting risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective actions
• Assisting with audits, compliance activities and ISO management systems
• Contributing to training, safety improvement programs and HSEQ initiatives
• Developing your expertise across safety, environmental and compliance functions

What we're looking for:

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety (or currently completing)
