Job summary

BG&E, now part of the SYSTRA Group, seeks a proactive HSEQ Advisor to drive safety culture across NSW and NZ operations. You will mentor staff, lead risk-based decision-making, and manage IMS improvements with audits and compliance reporting.

You will collaborate with regional leads, support ISO audits, and contribute to emergency planning and business continuity. A strong background in HSEQ within engineering/construction is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, OHS or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience delivering engineering/construction projects with reporting, auditing, safety in design and quality controls.
• Knowledge of NSW WHS/Environmental legislation and standards.
• White Card plus Asbestos or Crystalline Silica Awareness certification.
• Current Senior First Aid competency.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across dispersed geographies.
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end management systems: framework development, auditing, compliance verification, and improvement.

Responsibilities

• Act as SME, coaching teams to foster a strong HSEQ culture and risk-based decision-making.
• Drive IMS continuous improvement, identify trends, streamline processes, and provide compliance reporting to Regional Leads.
• Assist project teams with Management Plans, Safety in Design / Risk Workshops (HAZOP), and documentation.
• Conduct internal project audits, office inspections, and ISO accreditation audits.
• Support incident investigations (ICAM), track corrective actions, and share lessons learned.
• Maintain regional Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans, First Aid competency, and safety registers.
• Design, maintain, and audit safety management systems with practical implementation.
