Job summary

Fortec, an Australian owned contracting company, is seeking an HSEQ Advisor for the East Coast team. The role involves hands-on safety leadership, advising offices on safety procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing corrective actions across sites.

The successful candidate will conduct inspections, manage incident investigations, and coordinate inductions and trainings, with travel to offices and sites as required.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, or higher.
• 2 years’ experience in Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Assurance in civil construction.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Work Health Safety Act and Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and maintain HSEQ systems, procedures and standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits.
• Facilitate pre-start meetings and toolbox talks.
• Review JHAs, SWMS and risk assessments.
• Support leaders in identifying hazards and controls.
• Liaise with project managers and client HSEQ reps on safety matters.
• Manage incident reporting and investigations.
• Maintain HSEQ documentation and records.
• Coordinate site inductions and training.
• Assist with emergency procedures.
• Promote a positive safety culture and workforce engagement.
