Job summary

Australian Construction Group in Brisbane has a vacancy for an HSE Safety Advisor to protect project personnel and ensure compliance across works north of the Brisbane CBD. You will support site teams, review SWMS, conduct audits, and drive continuous safety improvements on a permanent full-time basis.

The role requires a Cert IV WHS and strong incident investigation skills, with hands-on commitment to safety, teamwork, and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Cert IV WHS (or equiv) is required.
• ICAM lead investigation training is required or desirable.
• Certification in drug and alcohol testing is required/advantageous.
• First aid within 3 years is essential.
• Level 2 Confined Space within 3 years is essential.
• Safe Working at Heights within 3 years is essential.
• General Construction Induction (White Card) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the Project Manager and site personnel.
• Ensure access to legislation and codes of practice for all site personnel.
• Offer safety guidance to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee site inductions to keep them current with legislation and requirements.
• Stop unsafe work and intervene on unsafe behaviours with corrective actions.
• Liaise with Client to maintain Project Risk Register and safety communications.
• Contribute to incident investigations and reporting.
• Review SWMS, SOPs, and work instructions for compliance.
• Report Health and Safety status to Project Manager and Safety Manager.
