Job summary

Ausenco is seeking an HSE Manager for the Rex Minerals Hillside Copper Project in South Australia. The role involves leading project HSE systems, coordinating with construction teams and driving a proactive safety culture on a major EPCM project.

You will ensure compliance with Australian WHS legislation, mentor the HSE team, and work in a FIFO-capable setup with site focus in Adelaide or other major hubs. Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement are essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated HSE leadership on major mining/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience establishing HSE management systems on large-scale projects.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive a zero-harm culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and continuous improvement of project-specific HSE management systems and reporting.
• Provide expert advice and coaching on health, safety and environmental matters.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and client requirements across all project phases.
• Establish contractor HSE management, review plans, risk assessments and safe work procedures.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessment and critical control verification.
• Manage incident reporting, investigation and corrective actions.
• Develop audit, inspection and assurance programs aligned with HSE standards.
• Oversee HSE reporting to project leadership, corporate stakeholders and client.
