Job summary

Exact Contracting Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Health, Safety, Environment & Training Coordinator to support FIFO operations on remote civil and mining projects in the Northern Territory and South Australia. The role reports to the Project Manager and National Safety, Training & Quality Manager and involves hands‑on field work in hot, dusty remote locations.

The successful candidate will coordinate safety programs, conduct inspections and inductions, manage training matrices and provide WHS

Qualifications

• Mandatory WHS qualification (minimum Cert IV)
• TAE116 or higher preferred for training delivery
• Strong understanding of mine site and legislative WHS requirements
• Construction/civil industry experience in a similar role
• Experience developing safety programs
• Excellent verbal and non‑verbal communication; collaborative team member

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with legislated safety and training requirements and client standards.
• Actively promote a Zero Harm environment aligned with company values.
• Coordinate safety programs to fulfill contractual obligations.
• Maintain safety registers, including the project training matrix.
• Conduct inspections and audits to ensure system compliance.
• Facilitate safety inductions and training, both paper-based and online.
• Coordinate toolbox talks and pre-start meetings.
• Investigate accidents/incidents and provide reporting.
• Review and develop risk assessments and site‑specific safe operating procedures.
• Provide regular WHS statistical reports to management; coaching and guidance.
• Ensure records are maintained and compliant with WHS legislation.
