Job summary

All Energy Contracting (AEC) is seeking an experienced HSE Manager for the Fraser Coast Hybrid Solar and BESS project near Maryborough, Queensland. This 12-month fixed-term role involves a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster and leadership of a small site-based HSE team to drive policy and practice.

You will implement health and safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with management and subcontractors to foster a proactive safety culture on one of Australia’s largest renewable projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in HSE with managerial responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of Australian health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Experience in energy infrastructure, civil construction or heavy/high-hazard environments.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programs.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Position Overview

We are looking for an engaging, proactive HSE Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract, working a 2:1 FIFO/DIDO roster.

The Fraser Coast Hybrid Solar and BESS Project, located near Teebar and Brooweena, approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Maryborough in the Fraser Coast region of Queensland. Set across 555 hectares, the development combines approximately 600,000 solar panels (330MW) with a 180 MW / 360 MWh battery energy storage system and a 275 kV grid connection via an existing substation.

In the HSE Manager role, you will implement effective health and safety policies, ensuring compliance with local regulations and fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of a small site based HSE team.
• Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards.
• Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Collaborate with management to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
• Maintain accurate records of health and safety activities and incidents.
• Oversee HSE compliance as the principal contractor, liaise with internal construction management teams and subcontractor management.
• Daily interaction with the client and external stakeholders.

Key Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years' experience within HSE, with prior experience in a managerial capacity.
• Strong knowledge of Australian health and safety legislation and regulations.
• Experience within energy infrastructure, civil construction or heavy industry / high hazard environments is essential.
• Ability to develop and deliver training programmes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of HammerTech, Employment Hero and Dash Pivot is desirable
