Job summary

WaterNSW is seeking a motivated HSE Coordinator on a full-time, 18-month maximum-term contract to support the systems, processes and initiatives that keep our people safe and our operations running effectively. You’ll coordinate HSE reporting, maintain records and contribute to continuous improvement projects to strengthen our safety culture across the organisation.

The role requires WHS qualifications, knowledge of HSE governance, and experience with HSE management systems.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Health, Safety and Environment, such as a Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety or a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Sound knowledge of Work Health and Safety legislation, codes of practice, risk management principles and HSE governance processes.
• Experience working with HSE Management Systems (Mitti / SafetyCulture – highly regarded), including compliance monitoring, reporting, assurance activities and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of a strong and compliant Health, Safety and Environment Management System, helping drive key processes and ensuring actions, investigations and assurance activities are completed effectively and on time.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date HSE records, reports and documentation, including incident reporting, hazard management, risk assessments and compliance information.
• Coordinate and deliver engaging HSE communications across the business, helping to build awareness, strengthen safety culture and keep employees informed and connected.
• Assist teams with risk assessments and hazard identification activities, helping ensure risks are effectively managed in line with WaterNSW's policies, systems and obligations.
• Partner with leaders, subject matter experts and employees to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support the implementation of initiatives that enhance safety and environmental performance.
