Job summary

KMH is seeking an HSE Advisor for a 6-month to ongoing role based in Perth, WA. The position involves promoting safety across civil construction and mining projects, with a 4:3 and 5:2 roster. Earthworks experience is essential to succeed.

Applicants must have Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety and be able to pass medical and drug/alcohol testing. Local to Perth and WA-wide site coverage expected.

Qualifications

  • Earthworks experience is required.
  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of WA WHSA, WHSMR, and relevant Australian Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and ensure workplace safety across projects.
  • Audit participation in internal and external HSE audits.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders on HSE matters.
  • Lead investigations into HSE incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Support monthly safety reporting and toolbox talks.

With continual growth across WA, our client is currently seeking an HSE Advisor to join their team. This role is a 6-month to ongoing role on a 4:3 and 5:2 roster. The successful applicant must have Earthworks experience.

The Role:

As an HSE, you will play a crucial role in promoting and ensuring workplace safety across various projects. Your responsibilities include:

  • Field Presence and Compliance: Maintaining a consistent communication and support to provide guidance to site management, supervisors, and employees, ensuring adherence to HSE legislation.
  • Audit Participation: Engaging in both internal and external HSE audits to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Building and sustaining relationships with clients and relevant stakeholders through regular communication on HSE matters, ensuring alignment with project requirements and expectations.
  • Training and Mentorship: Assisting supervisors in training employees on hazard identification and incident prevention, fostering a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management.
  • Incident Management: Leading investigations into HSE incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence, and reporting findings to relevant parties.
  • Safety Culture Leadership: Providing leadership that promotes teamwork and drives successful, safe project delivery, actively contributing to the cultivation of a positive safety culture within the organization.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Assisting in the preparation of monthly safety reports, participating in safety toolbox and awareness sessions, and ensuring that all project safety objectives and targets are met.

Requirements:

  • Earthworks experience (required)
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (essential).

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test
