Qualifications

• Work Health and Safety qualifications with practical industry experience.
• Experience in HSE advisory or safety role in high-risk environments.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, risk management and HSE systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical HSE advice to operational teams and site leaders.
• Identify risks through inspections and risk assessments.
• Support investigations and coordinate corrective actions.
• Deliver toolbox talks and safety training.
• Support compliance with HSE legislation and site policies.
• Develop practical risk controls with operations.
• Maintain HSE records and monitor safety performance.

What you’ll bring to the team:

• Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety, HSE or a related discipline, supported by practical industry experience.
• Demonstrated experience in an HSE advisory or operational safety role, ideally within construction, mining, heavy industry or a similar high‑risk environment.
• Sound knowledge of WHS legislation, regulatory requirements, risk management principles and HSE management systems.
• Experience conducting workplace inspections, safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage, coach and influence employees and operational leaders at all levels.
• A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to continuous improvement.
• The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

What you’ll be doing:

• Champion safety on the ground by providing practical HSE advice, coaching and technical guidance to operational teams, supervisors and site leadership.
• Identify risks before they become incidents through proactive workplace inspections, safety audits, hazard identification and risk assessments.
• Drive effective incident management by supporting investigations, identifying root causes and coordinating corrective and preventative actions.
• Inspire a positive safety culture by delivering toolbox talks, supporting safety training and encouraging employee participation in HSEQ initiatives.
• Strengthen compliance and accountability by supporting the implementation of HSE legislation, management systems, policies and site‑specific requirements.
• Partner with operational teams to develop practical risk controls and promote consistent, safe work practices across the business.
• Turn insights into action by maintaining accurate HSE records, monitoring safety performance and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
