Job summary

Team Global Express in Newcastle is seeking a reliable HR Truck Driver to operate tautliner and tailgate trucks for local deliveries. The role is a permanent full-time position with Monday to Friday hours, and start times around 7:30–9:00 AM depending on operations. Overtime may be available.

Key duties include safe vehicle operation, load security, daily pre-start checks, and accurate delivery documentation while delivering excellent customer service with a strong emphasis on safety.

Qualifications

• Experience driving tautliner and tailgate trucks.
• Knowledge of Dangerous Goods (DG) requirements.
• Understanding of Load Restraint (LR) principles.
• Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HR tautliner and tailgate vehicles.
• Complete local deliveries and pick-ups within scheduled timeframes.
• Load and hand unload freight when required.
• Secure and restrain loads using correct load restraint equipment.
• Perform daily vehicle pre-start inspections and report defects.
• Ensure accurate completion of delivery documentation.
• Follow safety procedures and company policies.
• Report hazards, near misses and incidents per procedures.
• Collaborate with operations team to deliver excellent customer service.
