Job summary

Katherine Town Council in Katherine, NT is seeking a proactive Human Resource Officer to join our People and Culture team. The role covers payroll processing, recruitment support, HR records, training coordination and workforce compliance.

You will report to the Manager People and Culture and contribute to service delivery and organisational culture. A background in HR/payroll and strong data handling are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR, payroll and administration.
• Knowledge of payroll processes and employment conditions.
• Ability to interpret policies and handle confidential data.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end fortnightly payroll and payroll adjustments.
• Assist recruitment, onboarding and induction activities.
• Maintain HR records, forms and documentation.
• Coordinate Council training and development programs.
• Support workforce compliance and safety administration.
