Job summary

PCA is growing fast, and our people and payroll functions need dedicated, hands‑on leadership to grow with us. This role sits within our Finance, People & IT department, which operates as a shared services function supporting the wider business.

Based at our Arundel head office on the Gold Coast, you'll get exposure across all areas of HR, Payroll and Recruitment for 150+ team members across Queensland and New South Wales.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in a similar HR/Payroll leadership role.
• Working knowledge of the Building and Construction General On‑site Award 2020 and how to apply it.
• Familiarity with the Clerks - Private Sector Award 2020 and the Professional Employees Award 2020.
• Solid knowledge of the Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards.
• Knowledge of portable long service leave compliance and lodgements.
• Knowledge of WorkCover Queensland and icare NSW claims and administration.
• Understanding of Services Australia and Child Support processes.
• Practical HR know-how: contract generation, performance management and internal reviews.
• Knowledge of visa sponsorship.
• Confidence with SharePoint and Microsoft 365, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the generation of employment contracts, letters of offer, and promotion/termination correspondence.
• Support managers with performance Management, internal reviews and Fair Work questions.
• Contribute to recruitment, staff retention and staff attraction initiatives.
• Support visa sponsorship requirements with our immigration agency.
• Work alongside the HR Officer and Talent Acquisition Specialist.
• Manage payroll across divisions, projects and regions with the Payroll Manager.
• Run end-to-end payroll and apply Awards accurately for a diverse workforce.
• Keep payroll tax, long service leave and WorkCover obligations on track.
• Reconcile payroll to ledgers and monitor legislative changes.
