Job summary

4WD Supacentre is seeking an HR Operations Manager in Canberra to lead the operational governance and continuous improvement of People & Culture systems and processes on site.

Reporting to the National Manager, People Partnering, you will drive HR technology, project delivery and employee lifecycle administration, collaborating with HR, Payroll, IT and operations to deliver accurate, efficient services and implement practical improvements across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in HR operations, HR systems or People & Culture process improvement.
• Experience coordinating system enhancements, automation or integration initiatives.
• Strong project coordination skills, including implementation, testing and change management.
• Experience preparing employment contracts, variations and employee lifecycle documentation.

Our operations span retail, warehousing, distribution and corporate functions. We’re looking for an HR Operations Manager to strengthen the systems, processes and operational foundations that support our people and continued growth.

About the Role

Reporting to the National Manager, People Partnering, you’ll lead the effective operation, governance and continuous improvement of our People & Culture systems and processes.

This is a hands-on role combining HR technology, project delivery, data integrity and employee lifecycle administration. You’ll work closely with People & Culture, Recruitment, Payroll, IT and operational leaders to deliver accurate, efficient services and implement practical improvements across the business.

The role has no direct reports and offers the opportunity to lead projects and influence outcomes through strong stakeholder partnerships.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Optimising HR systems: Maintain effective system configuration and governance, identify automation and integration opportunities, and coordinate enhancements, testing and upgrades.
• Leading People & Culture projects: Manage projects from scoping and planning through to implementation and review, including communications, training and change management.
• Managing employee documentation: Prepare and issue employment contracts, variations and documentation for promotions, transfers, remuneration changes and other employee movements.
• Coordinating operational requests: Manage People & Culture requests through JIRA, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
• Improving employee lifecycle processes: Strengthen onboarding, employee movement and separation processes, coordinating changes across relevant teams and systems.
• Maintaining data integrity: Keep employee records accurate, current and appropriately controlled.
• Turning data into insights: Identify trends, recurring issues and improvement opportunities, and provide reporting that supports workforce and operational decisions.

About You

You bring a practical approach to HR operations and enjoy making systems and processes work better. You’re comfortable moving between project delivery, stakeholder collaboration and detailed operational work.

You’ll bring:

• Experience in HR operations, HR systems or People & Culture process improvement.
• Experience coordinating system enhancements, automation or integration initiatives.
• Strong project coordination skills, including implementation, testing and change management.
• Experience preparing employment contracts, variations and employee lifecycle documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accurate records and reliable data.
• Confidence analysing data and translating findings into practical recommendations.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to build relationships across teams.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and follow work through to completion.

Experience with JIRA or a similar ticketing platform would be advantageous.
