The role involves deploying new HPC infrastructure, managing Linux and Windows environments, handling user and batch workflows, and collaborating with IT partners, science groups and stakeholders to deliver reliable computing services for research outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in administering HPC systems in Linux and Windows environments.
• Ability to deploy HPC infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Strong collaboration with users, vendors and project teams.
• Knowledge of IT change and release management processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with deployment of new HPC infrastructure and cloud environments.
• Collaborate with users, vendors and partners to resolve hardware and software issues.
• Perform HPC administration including user management, batch management, performance monitoring, backup and restore.
• Provide advice to science staff relating to software management for model runs/processing.
• Assist with innovative proof-of-concept activities and work with IT providers to deliver positive outcomes.
• Contribute to strategy development, future planning and procurement of HPC resources.
• Deliver training to build knowledge and skills of HPC and cloud capabilities across Science users.
