Job summary

Jump Trading Group is expanding its global HPC team in Sydney and Mumbai to manage Linux HPC environments at scale. You will provide frontline operational support, troubleshoot complex issues, automate tasks, and contribute to cross‑functional infrastructure projects.

The role requires 2+ years of Linux HPC experience, scripting skills (Go/Python/C), and the ability to work evenings/weekends with on‑call rotation. Office‑based with a collaborative culture and global vendor engagement.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional Linux systems experience.
• HPC components such as Lustre/GPFS, Slurm/Grid Engine experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Go/Python/C).
• Ability to perform root cause analysis.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends and participate in on-call rotations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams.
• Office-based role with regular in-office presence.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline 24/7 Linux HPC compute, storage, and interconnect support.
• Resolve issues and manage problem lifecycle for Jump's research community.
• Respond to alerts and participate in large maintenance operations.
• Collaborate on global infrastructure projects across teams.
• Write code to diagnose, resolve, and automate tasks.
• Develop testing infrastructures and collaborate across languages.
• Manage vendor relationships and travel domestically/internationally as needed.
• Implement and maintain monitoring and fault detection systems.
• Develop and improve user documentation and production tooling.
• Adhere to cybersecurity policies and perform work on approved hardware/software.
• Participate in on-call rotation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Work from office about 5 days a week and be available for maintenance windows.
